The Library, Peeps, and Updating

Hey guys!

My computer needs a new charger. Joy. So I'm using my stepdad's cantankerous machine. Sooooooooo....let's chat.

If you haven't noticed, I'm a semi-bookworm. Don't plan on changing that. And my family and I kind of has this ritual that we go through when we go to the library. (Told you I was old school. It's cheaper that way.) We enter the library, pay our late fees. (That library makes more money from us than the government, I'm not kidding you.) And then we separate and go to our sections, (Children, young adult, not young adult.) at some point Mom realizes that we need to go; she looks through the piles of books we've picked out. She picks out the trashy literature, and then we check out. The car ride is silent, all of us reading our new finds. So yeah, hope you don't feel like you wasted your life reading that.

Today, I went with my stepdad and we went to an area that is...of lower class than ours, it was pretty much, a ghetto. And we handed out free hotdogs and Peeps. Yes marshmallow Peeps. I didn't really have a job, I was more of the advertiser of our shindig. I went up to people and got them to come over to where we were at. I mean, after walking around three guys who were smoking something funky. But it was good, I got to tell people why were handing out free stuff and talk to people about our church and it was good. So yep.
UPDATES!! I have decided after some debate that I am going to put ads up here. I'm sorry, I'll try to make them inconspicuous. Second matter of business is that I decided to try vlogging....and I put one vlog up. Problem is, you can't hear it unless the turn the volume ALLLLLL the way up. So I need a mike and tripod. (Or maybe just a better camcorder.) So what did I learn? Don't buy a video camera from ebay. Learned my lesson. Last new bit of info, I'm writing a novel. Well, co-writing, but it feels an awful lot like writing. And that is all, folks.

Over and out.

P.S.
There is a reason I did not link my vlog. Because it was terrible!!! Will blog about it later.

The trip was fun, but home is funner

Hey guys,
I am back, how did you hold up with me not being in your life for like 3 days? The lake house was fun. Horrendously fun.
I went kayaking today in this little inlet and there were so many TURTLES. And turtles are like my favorite animal, them and penguins, but you don't find many penguins in an inlet you can kayak around. I mean, not in North America. I'm getting off topic, sorry, I'm exhausted. These turtles were ADORABLE and TEENY like really really teeny it was ADORABLE.

We went home around 6ish(?) and I fell asleep on the way and right now my body is telling me to go to bed Cailin, you're tired. But I care about you guys so.....I'm writing this rabbit trail.

When I first wrote the post 'Things I can Do' I had no idea people would like it, when I first started out people didn't really enjoy my posts about myself, but hey, people can be surprising. You guys surprise me. All the time. YEP. Need to end this post. Right now.

Surviving...without phone service

My family decided to go down to a lake house. I've really enjoyed it, I've learned some things about myself.

1. I am a city girl. I don't enjoy living an hour away from civilization, so I've cleared that up.

2. Cell phone service is a gift. I miss it. So. Much.

3. I am a wimp when it comes to cold. A big wimp. Like, you don't understand. You NEVER will understand.

4. I love rivers. I love watching the water go by...

5. I neglect my viewers when I'm at a lake house. Sorry guys. Love you......

Over and out.

Whoa.........the Hunger Games

Not half an hour ago I was sitting in the movie theater watching this movie:
Now I had never read the books, my mom and sister had read them, but I had a perfect combination of laziness and just didn't really want to read a book about twenty-four kids having to kill each other in order for there to be a winner. I'm a very soft-hearted lass, and my family decided to do the next best thing, have me watch it.

It was, it was, epic, it was one long climax, I feel like I had five minutes of rising action and a whole movie of climax. There is no falling action. It ends in a climax. And I understand it's a trilogy and I understand there needs to be afterhype, but I needed a breather. When the credits rolled, I turned to my sister and said, "That's it?!?!" And my sister said, "Cailin, it's a trilogy." So...yeah.

As a film, they did a superb job, I felt how I was 'sposed to feel when I was 'sposed to feel something. All the actors went above and beyond, I watched some interviews on Youtube before I wrote this just to get other's opinions and some said they didn't buy Peeta's love for Katniss, some found it kind of stalkerish. But I don't know, that whole love triangle makes me think Peeta should fall for someone who loves him as much as he loves her. Guys, I loved Josh Hutcherson in this movie, I think all of the people who were in this movie now have a better chance of getting cast in more movies. So good for them.

So...overall, I have to begrudgingly give them applause, they did their part well, my money was well spent. And, now I have to go to the library and find all three of the books and read them. Sigh...

I want to marry a guy with a sister. (and other tips and shenanigans)

Doesn't that sound wrong? But honestly, it would be really nice to marry a guy who has a sister, and a brother, a big family!
Let's chat.
See my mom's remarried and been married for three years, and I've realized that there are some things that make life easier if he's already had to deal with it with somebody.

If he's got a sister: He knows more of what a girl goes through, and understands that at a certain time of the month it is just best to leave chocolate at the door.

If he's got a brother: He knows what it is like to have someone go through his stuff, and how he felt when that happened. You probably won't have to fight about whether or not you're being territorial or not, and he probably invade your privacy as much.

If he's got both: Win. Quick, get him to marry you! (Just kidding, go through premarital counseling first.)

If he's got a big family: He's more likely to be more laid back and affectionate. And, if you want a big family, he'll be more cool with the idea than other guys.

Tip for the Dudes: I hate that guys have years to contemplate on whether or not they want to spend the rest of their life with that person, and girls have 30 seconds. (give or take 15 if you're dating a guy who's insecure). Talk about the m word with your significant other and don't forget premarital counseling! It is a must.

Well those are my opinions and hypothesizes, (is that a word?) hope you have a great day!

In which I try and provoke an opinion...

First off, I really loved how alot of people viewed my 'Things I Can Do' post. That made me happy. You guys really are the bomb.

Two, I've been thinking....would you guys mind if I put ads on this blog? Just a question, there is an option on Blogspot that lets you put ads on your blog and you make cash. Just wondering...because being a sophomore girl can be a pricy lifestyle.....SO, comment let me know what you think because I would like to know. Yeah.

That's kinda all that I wanted to say, yeah, I'm so interesting....
I LOVE YOU GUYS!
Over and out.
Yours truly,

Things I Can Do.

I decided to focus for a moment on things I can do, than things I can't do. So, here we go!

1. I can read. I love reading. I wish I had more time to do so. So far I have read Paper Towns by John Green, one of the most talented men alive. The book was kind of like the Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway. I also read the Taming of the Shrew by none other than Billy Shakes. I'll be the first to admit, living in such a different society than he lived in, I didn't get the funny parts. And I wasn't really cool with the whole, tame the woman shtick. Yeah.

2. I can make a bowl of cereal. I'm kind of known for my inability to not be able to cook or follow recipes. (Any sort of directions really.) But I can make a bowl of cereal, so I know I won't starve when I'm all alone in the world and my mom's not there to cook for me.

3. I can use a drill. I'm really proud of this one because I took a semester class of Tech Theater and it took me like three months before I could use a drill properly. (Don't I sound ditzy?) But yeah. And I learned when to cover my ears during setbuilding. (So many dirty jokes. So many.)

4. I can be witty. I know this sounds like I'm being egotistic or something, but I'm not. I can be really funny when I want to. (I usually crack myself up more than that person I'm trying to make laugh. Yeah. I'm cool.) I appreciate good clean comedians who don't just have a long list of sex jokes. I also love making others laugh, think about it, if laughter is the best medicine, I'M CURING YOU!!!

5. I can blog. I LOVE blogging, reviving this blog was the best thing I could've done for me and my creative writingness. I'm so happy for all the people that have viewed my blog and continue to do so, leave a comment if you like something about my posts or if you think I should change something. I love you guys and hope this is a long term thing.

I hope you all have as lovely of a day as I've had. And now enjoy this cute kitty slightly stalkerish picture.

The Lorax

For years and years, I grew up with this guy:
And then yesterday, I found HIM.

With a wise tone of voice, a mustache to envy, and short as can be, it was as if he had gone out on a limb, for ME.

And with that lovely intro, let's chat.

The Lorax, is a 3D musical comedy film based on the story, the Lorax by the famous and coolest, Dr. Seuss. This film is about going green and truffula trees. And fish. That sing. And Dr. Seuss will tell you that,

I love this man. (Enjoy heaven.)
In short, this movie was speechlessly wonderful. It appealed to every audience and even the people that were dragged to the movie enjoyed it. The makers of this movie also made Despicable Me, so don't be surprised, that this movie is BURSTING with cuteness.
I cannot, will not, should not, find anything wrong with this movie. Most reviewers gave this movie four and a half stars, however I gave it five. So spend a few extra bucks for the Lorax. It may be 3D, but it was so worth the quality, easily the best 3D movie I've seen.

P.S.
WARNING: This movie will make you want to plant a tree. After the movie, I ran out and hugged the first tree I saw to the mortification and amusement of my family. (No joke.)

Digital or Hardback?

I was recently reading a article that was talking about if e-books and digital reading make it hard to remember things. And I asked myself, 'Self, what do you think about this?' Digital or old school?
    Shhh! I'll tell you.
Now convenience wise, on a long road trip or on a subway, digital format is the way to go. However, I'm a skimmer and scanner, have a tiny attention span, and am easily distracted. Therefore, I have found that for me personally, I focus on the story and get into it, when I'm going old school. Why? I don't know.
I DO know that I enjoy going to the library. I enjoy the agonizing time I take to find the book that I MUST have. I love checking out a few hundred of them. And I also love snuggling up in my thinking chair and reading a good book. So guess my vote is: do what you want. I'm going old school, cause I'm cool like that.
What's your opinion?
I wanna know what you think about it.

Kony2012 and one for the Smeep

  Hi there,
First off, don't shoot me, DON'T! My computor (not me this time) got really sick, and it needed de-virusing. Also I am really, really pumped about tomorrow, which is Friday, which is AWESOME. This week has been way too long. Oh and happy 16th birthday Michael Saxon.
He smiles more in real life. Let's chat.
My first topic of the day is #Kony2012, this is almost the most talked about thing ever, a pheunomonon that went viral yesterday and bam! It went CRAZY viral, a trending topic on twitter, and millions saw the video made by Invisible Children, the organization that put up the video and for years has been trying to do something against Joseph Kony, leader of the L.R.A., and a terror to too many children.
My opinion? Glad you asked....I don't know. I love the idea, I love how in the video they present the issue, they give the stats, and also how you can help. HOWEVER, I find the fact that only 30%  of donations go directly to assist those in need. (Working with an association that gives 100% of what they recieve to aid their cause, I guess I'm spoiled.) So I suppose you'll have to check out all of my hyperlinks that I graciously linked for you and form your own opinion. As for me, I think I would like this organization a thumbs up, and pray that Joseph Kony gets caught.
Joseph Kony,
And neither do I. Screw you.
Ove-WAIT I'M NOT DONE YET!!!!!!!!!

So I have this friend, Ethan Smilg, who is an awesome guy and techie, and I mentioned his name in a post like....four months ago.
And I'm checking my stats on my blog and I have this person who keeps looking his name up in my blog. And at first I was like...dude...weird. And then I was like....BAHAHAHAHA. (yes that is how I laugh). And then I was like....GOTTA POST ABOUT THAT. So Ethan, you have a crush/admirer/creep/stalker. Enjoy. So I made up a name for this person(s).
Smilg + Creep = Smeep!!!
I came up with that myself, thanks.
Cheerio!
Over and out.
Love,
Cailin

P.S.
I'm sorry Ethan. So sorry.

Why I'm going to suck right now

I REALLY REALLY want to make an epic post after knowing that you guys have seen yesterday's post that was just smushed up with a mixture of unhappiness and anger and AAAAHH that was happening in like, my life. Yeah, I'm one of those weird people who have their own life.

So here's the deal. I have an essay I have to PERFECT and a test I have to STUDY for, and this is very stressful on my subconscious. My conscious is like 'Let's check out my twitter! Hey someone uploaded a video on youtube! Hey-!" You get the picture.

Soooooo...I gotta go. I just wanted you to know that I love y'all and I think you guys are awesome. Kay....bye.
Over and out.
