Learning. Fun stuff.

 Some think that learning is boring and not fun.  I disagree.

    On the internet, in fun and witty ways, I have learned:

• about the fall of Rome
• how sugar is made
• how procrastination works
• how to cure my fish's illness (didn't make it, poor guy.)
• different idea's on faith
• political sides and viewpoints
•  how to understand Spanish preterite
• how caffeine works

  See when people think of learning, some have a negative association because they think of 'learning' as the method of teachers shoving stuff down their throat. It is not that, and I hope that people will discover that learning is much different than they realize, that teachers realize that there are better ways of teaching things, ways that make things stick in kids heads. And I hope they do so before I graduate (in 2014, for the curious.)  But I'll try not to get my hopes too far up.

Paper Towns

So I read this book.

    I read this book because I love John and Hank Green's vlogs on Youtube so when I saw his name on a book, I thought, "Why not?" I read this book late into the night, fighting against the melatonin I had taken previously. Mr. Green had gotten me with the candlestick in the ballroom, I was hooked. I loved the honesty that is his style of writing, I don't think he can pull off a different brand. However I didn't like all the cussing and nonchalant underage drinking, yeah I know that is just a fact of life to some people, but why so much in a fiction novel?
   I gave this book three stars. One, because it was compelling, kept me interested to the disastrous end. (Not at all what I expected or wanted.) Two, I enjoyed the story, he is a good writer. And three, I liked how the story turned from Quentin finding Margo, to Quentin finding himself.Which is really cool.

   I would recommend this book to twentyish people with a more philosophical take on life.
