Creeps, shout outs, and windows

Now, for the most part, I, Cailin Rogers, am a potentially fearless person. As a kid I was never afraid of the dark, heffalumps under my bed or going into the basement. But did anyone notice how I said 'potentially'?
Now my sister is freakishly afraid of spiders. I'm not, which means I'm the one at three in the morning groggily going into the bathroom to kill a spider so the world doesn't end. But there is one spider that flips me out.

This is a wolf spider. When I was little, one of these bad boys bit me and put me in the ER. Gee, thanks. Another time I was opening a cabinet to get some baking soda, and a huge one fell onto shirt. Now this wouldn't have been an issue, but this was a tank top, and it wasn't my most modest one and anyway I screamed and brushed it off, then did what any normal person would do. Stand on a chair and scream for somebody to kill this spider. The spider did not live through the night, and it was a while before I opened that cabinet again.
So I feel like the description 'potentially fearless,' suits me just fine.

Another order of business, I asked about a friend who was having a bad day what I should blog about, he said windows.
Bam.
Last matter of business, I have been getting more pageviews! I can see what country people view it from and I would like to say:
I have gotten 8 pageviews from Germany and I would like to say, "Danka sehr!" Whoever you are, you're a cool person/people.
I've had 3 pageviews, and I would like to continue by saying спасибо (if this doesn't say thanks, sorry.) Please keep it up.
I know a girl that lived there, and I've only had one pageview from you, come on now. Please come back.

And with 155 pageviews, so much yay! Thank you!

And for those who are seeing this blog, you're a cool person at heart.

Props

Loving yourself, is it possible?

I am a teenage girl, and I will be the first to tell you, I have the self esteem of a platypus raised by ducks...and I would imagine it wouldn't be that high.

I mean, it might feel a little out of place.
Anyway, as I was picking out my clothes yesterday, I wondered, do I pick out my clothes to flaunt my style and wear what I want to wear, or because I wear what people might like me wearing. And I realized, a good bit of the time, it was the latter. Which is crazy. So I wondered some more, do I love myself? How come I don't know, how come I think the answer is no?
So I used the magical oracle that is Google and came upon this site. It gave me four ways//rules to loving yourself.
1. Figure out who you are.
2. Surround yourself with positive, nurturing people.
3. Respond to your needs.
4. Treat yourself to something you’d treat a loved one to…regularly.
I think I might try it, probably won't blog about it again, but hey who knows? I might learn something...

Why sleep makes me jump for joy, and midterms scare me.

I want somebody to read this so I'm going to make it more reader friendly than usual.
Today I'm going to talk about sleep.
Without sleep you die, without proper sleep you gain weight, without sleep life just sucks. Why am I talking about sleep?
Because I am so tired, they say you don't know what you have til it's gone and they are so right. I woke up at two, and at three, and at four. I wake up at 5. Do you see how this is annoying?
And the time that I did sleep I was dreaming. And I don't have happy dreams, maybe my subconscious is a pessimist or something. So I did not have good sleep, and while I was sleeping I was trying to figure out who stole the lemon tea. I think it was the narrator.
This looks like an epic dream viewers.
Second topic, midterms. Cue the scary music. (Da, da, DAAAA!!) They're coming for you.

They are scary. And I'm taking one tomorrow. So pumped. Right. Now. Why do I not like midterms so much? Because I know I'm screwed when I walk in there, I know my attention span will last fifteen minutes, (this is scientifically proven.) and then I'll start to get nervous when I don't know the answers and freak out when people start finishing and I'm not 3/4 of the way through. SO yeah.
People who read this site or stumbled upon it, please don't close out of this page and never see this blog again because I was too tired to be witty, have pity, forgiveness is a virtue.

Love ya'll, gotta study,
Cailin

People that inspire me: Person #1

So far the only resolution I've stuck to is writing more. But today, I'm not going to talk about any opinions or feelings. Today I want to talk about someone very special, someone I've never met. But someone I care about today.

This is Jessica Joy Rees. She was 12. She died on Thursday, she was fighting brain cancer. And she never ever gave up. She started a foundation NEGU (Never Ever Give Up), and they distributed Joyjars to many kids with cancer.
She had a blog, and reading some of her posts, I was so surprised. She never had a bad word to say, she was the most cheerful twelve year old I've ever, well, read about. She was so sweet in her blog, her last post that she wrote was about how she loved her mommy, and how her mom did so much for her and her family.
This girl blew me away, I've lived three years more than she has (or will), yet she lived more than I have. How many of us have lived twenty, thirty, forty years, but have never truly lived them. At least she did. Her family will be in my prayers, and I want to give props to this amazing girl. I'll see you in heaven someday.

Why teamwork is epic

I've always worked well with a team, I enjoy the camaraderie and the high-fives when we get the job done. But I reached the epitome of teamwork when I got into theater.
Let's define teamwork first. Teamwork is like this.
Pretty good description huh?
So, now that you have that in perspective, think about the theater aspect, you've got your tech team and your actors. Let's focus with your tech team first.
Techies, their job is to put together the set, hang up/prop up the set, fly everything in, light the stage expertly, and make sure the audience can hear everything the actors say and the music. It's a HUGE job. It requires a lot of people coming in, and according to there talents and abilities, they naturally separate into groups.
You've got your construction crew, that cuts wood like it's their job to cut wood. You've got your sound group, that artistically, mystically, uses wires, and cords, and all kinds of stuff to make it sound like a freaking masterpiece. (because it is.) Light crew, throws light around like it's an egg, and they have to catch it with a spoon, and we haven't even started talking about the muscle it takes to man the fly rail.
See what I mean? If one of those teams messes up, the whole show is bad. It requires trust, and the responsibility of doing the job right on everyone. And this is just the people who are behind the stage.
Let's talk about them actors.
This picture is a scene from Wicked, the most insane, awesome Broadway show of all time. Now imagine your watching this, and one of the people turn around and face the audience instead of the one the spotlight is on, that would be a problem, cause you would focus on him instead of Elphaba singing Defying Gravity.
Actors have to practice and practice to get their parts right, and they rely on each other to get the parts right because if Actor B forgets his line Actor A is in a pickle.
And I'm saying all of this from some experience, I was in the musical, Seussical, and let me tell you, it was so freaking fun! I loved it, and completely enjoyed myself.
Here I am in one of our numbers, I'm in the mini pigtails, not looking were everyone else is looking, moral of the story look were everyone else is looking cause this pic was in the newspaper!Oh, good times, good times.
I hope this rambling helped you grasp something, that theater is hard work and teamwork, is epic.
Sayanora.

Reflecting a weekday, and a change of heart.

It seems like there is some sort of innate happiness on this day, that in fact today is Friday. You can wake up late, it's Friday. You can half listen to all of your teachers, it's Friday. You can skip all the way home because, pancakes, it's Friday!

I googled Friday, this is what I got...
But for real, Friday is where it's at.

So my favorite cartoon character is Mickey Mouse. I love this guy. He's just got this great personality.
So I was for sure in love with Mickey, until I heard the story of the underdog, the guy who never got he wanted. This guy.
In 1927, this bunny was created and was produced in 26 films. He was Walt Disney's first character. And he was loved by the public. However Universal Studios took rights of it and stole the masterpiece as their own. So Disney quit Universal Studios, and altered his creation into a mouse. The one we know as Mickey.
Oswald pretty much became dead to the world after Universal Studios snagged him. Until 2006, in which Disney studios bought rights to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. And now, Oswald is getting the fame he deserves. Props world, props.

A warning, and a few other things.

DANGER! The stuff I write on here is 8 times out of 10 is opinion (that's just how I usually roll) and I can't guarantee that I won't step on anyone's toes. The pictures I put up on here usually aren't mine, and they belong fully to some cool person.
And, I checked out my stats (they put stats on this thing) and I saw that I had 3 pageviews from Germany. That is SO cool! Props to you German resident(s)! Please keep reading. And if anyone sees this and they like what they see, tell somebody, follow me, help a 15 year old girl get famous.(wink wink)
I think that is all, now back to our feature presentation....(did you notice that nobody really uses that word anymore?)
